Gravitational lensing by spherically symmetric lenses with angular momentum

چکیده
Following Sereno (2002a), we discuss the bending of light rays by spherically symmetric lenses with angular momentum. For several astrophysical systems, such as white dwarfs and galaxies, gravitomagnetism induces a correction on the deflection angle as large as 0.1%.

Absence of Stationary, Spherically Symmetric Black Hole Solutions for Einstein-Dirac-Yang/Mills Equations with Angular Momentum
We study a stationary, spherically symmetric system of (2j + 1) massive Dirac particles, each having angular momentum j, j = 1, 2, . . ., in a classical gravitational and SU(2) Yang-Mills field. We show that for any black hole solution of the associated Einstein-Dirac-Yang/Mills equations, the spinors must vanish identically outside of the event horizon.

متن کاملSpherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory
In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...
متن کاملGravitational Lensing in Inhomogeneous Universes
I describe a new approach (developed in collaboration with D.E. Holz) to calculating the statistical distributions for magnification, shear, and rotation of images of cosmological sources due to gravitational lensing by mass inhomogeneities on galactic and smaller scales. Our approach is somewhat similar to that used in “Swiss cheese” models, but the “cheese” has been completely eliminated, the...
متن کاملGravitational lensing in modified Newtonian dynamics
Modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) is an alternative theory of gravity that aims to explain large-scale dynamics without recourse to any form of dark matter. However the theory is incomplete, lacking a relativistic counterpart, and so makes no definite predictions about gravitational lensing. The most obvious form that MONDian lensing might take is that photons experience twice the deflection o...
